"Firm and meaty, with savory herb, dried currant, black licorice and blackberry fruit that's full-bodied, focused, ripe yet elegant, ending with detailed tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Drink now through 2016.” – J.L. 90 points

Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine, March 2009
"Very ripe and just a touch earthy to boot, this wine starts off in a problematic direction, but it clears up with airing and brings out a highly concentrated fruit character that lifts the aromas out of their doldrums and propels the flavors into juicy prominence from entry to lasting finish. Admittedly, the aromas are not this wine's strong suit, but its depth and richness earn it full commendation and, were it not for its awkward start, this bottling would surely have rated higher." 90 points

"Rich and a little earthy, but offers good structure and concentration, with bright blackberry, pencil lead and spice aromas and layered plum and toasty licorice flavors. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Drink now through 2012. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 10,587 cases made." -TF 88 points
