An iconic Napa Valley Bordeaux blend produced in limited quantities since 1986, Proprietary Red is synonymous with Pahlmeyer. Each release delivers rich, dark notes and layers of gorgeous complexity that become increasingly seductive with age. Sourced exclusively from Napa Valley mountain vineyards, each vintage showcases the most complex, nuanced expression of that growing season.
The Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Chardonnay captures the flagship blend of Napa Valley opulence and Burgundian-style finesse. It offers beautiful balance, focus and freshness with age-worthy richness. Our Chardonnay is sourced exclusively from Napa Valley mountain vineyards which provide a beautiful amount of structure and acid — allowing Pahlmeyer to incorporate richness from heavy-toast French oak and native yeast fermentation that creates a perfectly balanced wine.
The Napa Valley Merlot showcases one of Bordeaux’s most important foundational varieties, grown in dedicated, eastern-facing blocks on the Pahlmeyer Estate Vineyard. Deep and highly concentrated with an unusually expressive nose for a Merlot, this wine also offers ripe berry fruit notes and balanced acidity.
In vintages of exceptional quality, Pahlmeyer crafts three exclusive and highly allocated wines: Pièce de Résistance Cabernet Sauvignon, Raison d’Etre Cabernet Sauvignon and Savoir Faire Chardonnay.
Pièce de Résistance represents our highest achievement — the finest barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon from a singular vintage. This wine is an experience of the varietal in its purest form, crafted to stand the test of time.
Vineyard stewardship is arguably the “highest purpose,” the “Raison d’Etre” for a first growth winery like Pahlmeyer. The name of this wine reflects Pahlmeyer’s dedication to farming in extreme mountain conditions 1,500 to 2,200 feet above the Napa Valley floor, to yield fruit of great intensity and concentration. A singular expression of the Pahlmeyer Estate Vineyard, selecting only the best barrels from top vintages.
Savoir Faire Chardonnay is named for the French phrase meaning “knowing how to do something well.” This wine represents our finest barrels of Chardonnay from the most coveted Napa Valley vintages, aged in 100% new François Frères Cooperage French oak puncheons with heavy toast. Savoir Faire is crafted primarily from Pahlmeyer Estate Vineyard on the ridge of Atlas Peak, perched 2,200 feet above sea level at its highest point.
