Wine Advocate Issue 228
Our first perfect score from Robert Parker
The dense ruby/purple-tinged 2012 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast reveals copious notes of brambleberries and mountain berries, forest floor, spring flowers and spice. Medium to full-bodied with silky tannins as well as a fleshy, succulent texture, good purity, and the oak pushed to the background, it should drink beautifully for 10-12 years.
The 2010 Pinot Noir is surprisingly juicy for the vintage. Black cherries, spices and flowers burst from the glass in this deep, expressive Pinot. The wine reveals gorgeous depth and purity all the way through to the resonant finish.
Deliciously ripe, smooth and supple-textured, with rich layers of black cherry, blackberry, plum, spicy floral and anise scents. Firm and concentrated, yet elegant and refined, delivering the flavors on a tight beam.
The 2006 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast reveals classic Cote de Nuits aromas of damp forest floor, black raspberries, cherries, and spring flowers. With terrific fruit, full body, ripe tannin, and a round, generous, savory mouthfeel already displaying tremendous complexity.
The 2005 Pinot Noir is tasting beautifully. This wine has a deep ruby color, a superb nose of raspberries, crushed rocks, and some subtle background oak. It is full-bodied, ripe, generous, with some forest floor-like notes reminiscent of a top red Burgundy.
