2023

The 2023 Pahlmeyer Chardonnay is a bright, fresh expression of our mountain fruit, offering remarkable precision and depth.  Aromatically, it is highly expressive, with notes of honeysuckle, orange blossom, and preserved lemon, deepening into a core of tangerine and apricot. A touch of toasted almond and a subtle flinty note add further complexity. On the palate, this Chardonnay balances intensity with elegance – finely detailed and in perfect focus. Its acidity is vibrant and mouthwatering, lifting the layers of citrus and stone fruit while lending a seamless, silky texture. A long, polished finish echoes with hints of warm honey and citrus zest. – Winemaker Katie Vogt

The 2022 Pahlmeyer Merlot is generous yet structured, a dynamic interplay of intensity and vibrancy.  Aromas of brambly blackberry, macerated black cherry, and wild raspberry rise from the glass, underscored by crushed peppercorn, fresh sage, and a hint of forest floor. On the palate, a rich core of dark plum and fresh fig is wrapped in plush, velvety tannins, while savory, earthy notes emerge with time: tobacco leaf, cocoa nib, and plowed earth.  The finish is long and lifted, carried by the wine’s natural energy and a lingering touch of violet and warm spice.  With its dark fruit core amplified in its youth, this wine will evolve beautifully over the next decade, developing further nuance and refinement. – Winemaker Katie Vogt

The 2022 Proprietary Red is an expansive and energetic expression of Napa Valley mountain terroir — rich with lifted aromatics and finely structured tannins. The wine opens with savory notes of green and black peppercorn, tobacco leaf, and forest floor, layered over a core of macerated cherry, blackberry, and plum. As the wine evolves in the glass, a dynamic streak of black licorice, chai spice, and cocoa emerges across the mid-palate, balanced by mouthwatering acidity and a long, generous finish. The tannins are already beautifully integrated, lending a velvet texture through the mid-palate. This wine is a compelling reflection of site, vintage, and thoughtful farming — beautiful upon release with the structure to evolve over the next 10–12 years. – Katie Vogt
